Green Island Reassessment Project Information

Your new tentative assessment has just been mailed to you. Take some time to review your assessment information. If you question the accuracy of your tentative assessment or just want to check other assessments, there are listing(s) of all the new tentative assessments along with sales listings and photos of recent sales.  There is also information pertaining on how to file an application to have your new tentative assessment reviewed along with contact and meeting information.

This project was conducted in adherence to the NYS Department Tax and Finance- Division of ORPTS’s- Rules & Regulations and procedures. For additional information and documentation you can go to their web site at:  www.tax.ny.gov.

The purpose of this project was to bring all assessments in Green Island to current market levels to insure that each tax payer pays only their fair share of the property tax burden.  You now have an opportunity to schedule an informal meeting with Staff from Municipal Assessment Services to present information supporting a change in your new tentative assessment. Contact numbers are available and operators will be on duty to answer your calls starting Mar 3, 2014 between the hours of 9AM to 3PM.

If you are not satisfied with the results of your informal meeting, you are entitled to file for a hearing at this year’s Grievance Day scheduled for Tuesday May 27, 2014.
