Second Phase of Hudson Avenue Project to start on Thursday; Watch for Parking Restrictions and Road Detours

Contractors from New Castle Construction will be starting work on the second phase of construction on Hudson Avenue and Lower Hudson Avenue beginning on Thursday, August 13th. The work will begin with replacement of ADA ramps on most corners throughout the length of the project area, followed by sidewalk installation on the east side of Lower Hudson Avenue, followed by milling and paving of the entire length. The project schedule states the the work will take 3-6 weeks to complete.

The installation of the ADA ramps will begin in the area of Tibbits Avenue first and proceed south. The area where the work is occurring may be closed to local and emergency traffic. They will be posting detour signs, as well as cones with signs to let residents know they cannot park there. Any vehicle not moved will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense so please pay close attention to the signage. Residents can park in legal spaces anywhere on other streets. We ask for your cooperation during this time.

New Castle will be using the portion of the Ford Motor Company lot, between Cannon and George, for their staging area. The area of the lot between George and Hudson will remain open for resident parking. If you have any questions, please call the Village Office at 518-273-2201.

Thank you for your cooperation.
