CANCELLED: Planned GIPA outages (tentative) – May 23 and May 27

UPDATED 4:30PM – THE TENTATIVELY PLANNED OUTAGE HAS BEEN CANCELLED.

National Grid has been working with the Village of Green Island and the Green Island Power Authority on scheduling planned power outages. Grid has to upgrade the line that feeds Green Island and it has to be done in two phases. The outages are TENTATIVELY planned for Monday, May 23rd from 7PM to 11PM and Friday, May 27th from 4AM to 8AM.

Most of the outages we have had over the last couple years have been due to issues with this line. We are hopeful that the upgrade will fix those issues. If upgrades are not made to the line we will be subject to outages that may take longer to fix and will be unexpected.

Once the date and times are confirmed the Village and GIPA will use the Everbridge alert system, Facebook, and the website to alert the public.

If you are not signed up for Village alerts please do so by calling/visiting the Village Office. Forms can also be found at https://villageofgreenisland.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Alert-notification-form.pdf

The Village understands that outages are inconvenient and we thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.
