NYS Burn Ban lifted; Chief Bourgeois stills urges caution

The New York Statewide Burn Ban ended yesterday. Chief Bourgeois still has the authority to impose a ban and has also stated that even after May 14th he will extend this ban on burning during any period in the future in which the National Weather Service has issued a “Red Flag” fire advisory for Eastern Albany County or for any other factors that compromise the safety of the Village.

The Village still falls under the International Fire Code and Section 307 of that code spells out requirements related to open burning, recreational fires and portable outdoor fireplaces. Click below for link to that section for your own information:
