GREEN ISLAND POLICE ARREST SEX OFFENDER AGAIN

On Tuesday, August 8th, 2017 at approximately 07:30a.m. Green Island Police Officers arrested WILLIAM GOODMAN (DOB: 10/20/1974) on the charge of failing to register internet accounts/identifiers within 10 days of creation while registering as a sex offender , after the subject was released from Saratoga County Jail. GOODMAN is a registered sex offender, previously involved in an incident investigated by Waterford PD in July 2017. GOODMAN was arrested by Waterford PD and lodged at the Saratoga County Jail following that incident. Information was received from various sources, including messages to Green Island Police Department social media accounts from concerned citizens, regarding GOODMAN’s online social media activity. An investigation was launched by Green Island Police Department officers and an arrest warrant was obtained for GOODMAN’s arrest.
GOODMAN appeared in Green Island Town Court on 08/08/2017 for arraignment. GOODMAN was remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000 cash bail. GOODMAN will reappear at a later time/date in Green Island Town Court where representatives from the Albany County District Attorney’s Office will assist in handling the case.
