Mayor Ellen McNulty-Ryan stated, “Sadly, I have to report to you today that Green Island has seen our first two confirmed cases of Coronavirus and one death due to suspected COVID-19 complications. I extend my sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, who was a longtime resident and much loved member of our community. This is a close reminder to all of us that we must do the things that have been asked of us since the COVID-19 Emergency was declared. Please stay home except for essential work, grocery shopping, trips to the pharmacies, etc. It is okay to go out for a walk or exercise outdoors in open space but you must practice social distancing, wear a mask in public and wash your hands frequently. We are all in this together, and together we can work to end it sooner rather than later.”
