The annual Memorial Day Parade will be held on Thursday, May 23rd at 6:00 p.m. Lineup is at 5:30 p.m. on Hudson Avenue. Please note Hudson Avenue will be closed to traffic at George Street during lineup. All residents are encouraged to attend the parade and the brief ceremony at the Legnard-Curtin Post that follows. This year’s Grand Marshals will be life long residents and brothers, Arthur, Robert and Richard Connery. Please attend to honor our veterans and especially those who made the supreme sacrifice. The Green Island Power Authority puts a lot of effort into assembling a Veteran’s float for the parade. We would like to fill the float to show our appreciation to our military service men and women and this is the year to take the ride. THE PARADE ROUTE IS BEING CHANGED AND EXTENDED. The parade will march north on George Street to Tibbits Avenue. The parade will take a left on Tibbits Avenue and right on Cannon Street to Veterans Memorial Drive. The parade will make its way back to the American Legion going south on Cohoes Avenue. We are changing the route to honor our veterans. The veteran flags will be on display along Cannon Street, Veterans Memorial Drive and Cohoes Avenue. The parade will NOT be going on Arch Street. Click here to see map of new route. Please contact Tara Bourgeois at 518-273-2201 if you would like a ride on the float this year!
