The new Village tree will be officially dedicated in a brief ceremony to be held at approximately 6:20pm tonight at the Memorial Park at 19 George Street (“The Point”) in Green Island. Anonymous donors have purchased the new tree and a beautiful monument that replaces the longtime landmark tree that adorned the entrance to the residential section of the Village for years and had to be taken down for safety reasons a few months ago. It will be dedicated to long time Village official John J. Pulenskey who served in various capacities, including as Deputy Mayor and Police Commissioner, starting in 1966 and was a long time benefactor and friend to the Village and Town of Green Island. All are invited and encouraged to attend.
