Although no snow emergency has been declared in Green Island as of yet, DPW Commissioner Tony Cesare is asking residents and visitors to voluntarily move your vehicles off street and he will have plows clean out the roads and parking spaces that are open on a block by block basis.
Parking is presently available on the east side of the Ford lot, Honeywell lot on Tibbits Avenue, Veterans Memorial Stadium and all Municipal Lots. The west side of the Ford lot remains closed for now until it can be safely cleared.
We are also asking homeowners and residents to clear off the sidewalks in front of your properties so that Thanksgiving relatives and visitors are able to walk safely on the sidewalks.
